Responsibilities
- - Assist in preparing full detailed designs for buildings Electric Works including lighting, power, main & sub-distribution boards, lightning system, earthing system with bonding & galvanic action prevention, public address, audio system for special purposes places, telephone, security, firefighting, nurse calling and paging systems, etc.
- - Assist in designing medium tension sub-stations (Trans. & R.M.U) through full coordination with GEDCO (Gaza Electricity Distribution Company) as external stakeholder.
- - Assist in designing indoor telephone network through full coordination with PALTEL (Palestinian Telecommunication Company) as external stakeholder and service provider.
- - Assist in making necessary studying and inspecting for materials data sheets which to be used in design projects and has potential to make equivalency list of materials.
- - Assist in preparing tender documents (electrical works part) through systematic procedure compatible with other works.
- - Assist in preparing technical specifications for materials specified during design works.
- - Commits to hand-over time of design works according to drawn plan by direct supervisor.
- - Archives all completed design task works in proper way including drawings, calculations, pre-engineering site data.
- - consider “greening” /environmental” consideration during the design work
- - Prepares itemized BOQ and cost estimate for related electrical works designed by staff.
- - Ensuring that the used materials in the deigns, matches local and int’l specifications, and fit for the purpose
Education
- University degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering.
Work Experience
- University degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in electrical works design for building projects including solar system projects. Use of computers in design is required.
Conditions of service:
- Type of Contract: Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band E. The Limited Duration Contract applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC.
- 1 year - with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.
- LDC- Band E monthly basic salary ranges US$ 1,448.30
