Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Organizes and develops the subject of specialization.
  2. Coordinates the teaching of the subject with subjects taught by other instructors.
  3. Ensures the proper implementation of the subject syllabus and evaluates its effectiveness under the direction of the concerned supervisors.
  4. Maintains records, controls supplies in the section, and ensures the proper care and utilization of facilities and equipment.
  5. Participates in co-curricular activities at the Centre and in different summer courses when required.
  6. Participates with other staff members in maintaining order and discipline at the Centre.

Qualifications:

1- TRADE INSTRUCTOR 'C' GRADE 9
  • Successful completion of full Secondary Education, plus two years post-secondary Technical Course in an area directly related to the trade of auto-electrician.
  • The staff member is subject to termination from the Agency's service after five years from E.O.D if s/he fails to produce evidence of having completed a professional teacher in-service training course of two-year duration. This is a precondition for qualifying him/her for Trade Instructor "A".

2- TRADE INSTRUCTOR 'B' GRADE 10
  • Successful completion of full Secondary Education, plus two years post-secondary Technical Course in an area directly related to the trade of auto-electrician.
  • The staff member is subject to termination from the Agency's service after five years from E.O.D if s/he fails to produce evidence of having completed a professional teacher in-service training course of two-year duration. This is a precondition for qualifying him/her for Trade Instructor "A".

3- TRADE INSTRUCTOR 'A' GRADE 11
  • 3.1- Successful completion of full Secondary Education, plus two years post-secondary Technical Course in an area directly related to the trade of auto-electrician, plus two years in-service training course, for candidates with at least three years' experience of satisfactory service as an instructor 'C' in the trade of auto-electrician,. OR

  • least two years teaching experience plus one year work experience in the trade, or in a related technical function.
  • The staff member is subject to termination from the Agency's service after five years from E.O.D if s/he fails to produce evidence of having completed a professional teacher in-service training course of two-year duration.

Experience:

1. TRADE INSTRUCTOR ‘C’ GRADE 9:
No experience.

2. TRADE INSTRUCTOR ‘B’ GRADE 10:
2.1 At least three years’ experience of satisfactory service as an instructor ‘C’ in the trade to be taught, OR
2.2 At least two years teaching experience plus one year work experience in the trade, or in a related technical function.

3. TRADE INSTRUCTOR ‘A’ GRADE 11:
3.1 At least six years’ experience of satisfactory service as an instructor ‘C’ and/or ‘B’ in the trade to be taught, OR
3.2 At least six years’ experience is required including: two years teaching experience plus two years’ work experience in the trade, or in a related technical function.

Contract Conditions:

  • Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment
  • Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.
  • Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary (Grade 09: 959.80$; Grade10: 1,050.20$; Grade11: 1,164.30$); and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.
  • Leave: 36 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with six-day working week. 30 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with five-day working week.
  • Pension: Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency)
