Psychologist - "Bethlehem and Hebron"

Stars of Hope Society is implementing a 1 - year Project with TDH Lausanne, and YWCA of Jerusalem titled “Enhanced community- based inclusive and comprehensive GBV and protection services for Areas C, H2 and East Jerusalem”

The program has a major objective to be achieved as below:
Ensuring inclusive, accessible, quality, and coordinated basic services for the most vulnerable people under emergency situations in the West Bank, including Area C and East Jerusalem

Scope of work

Conduct trainings and activities (according to the existing project methodologies and tools) in Southern governorates of the West bank (Hebron-H2) as follows:
  1. Conduct structured support group sessions for GBV survivors or at risk of GBV (Women).
  2. Support the social worker in the CBO in providing unstructured parenting sessions.
  3. Provide Individual counseling for GBV survivors.
  4. Support the social worker in providing Psychological First Aid (PFA) at the community and household level; the CBOs’ social workers with the support of the partners’ psychologists will conduct home visits.
  5. Preparing a workplan for the trainings and sessions to be implemented with adults and families.
  6. Participate in preparing pre and post evaluation questionnaire for the participants for M&E purpose.
  7. Submit periodic reports about the nature of the participations, interaction with the sessions, the trainer’s opinion and analysis of progress.

Qualifications

  1. Having a degree in Psychology, and/or Counselling.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in individual or group counselling.
  3. At least 4 years of experience in working with women and families’ protection, MHPSS or GBV programing
  4. Familiarity with the humanitarian context in the targeted localities, especially the referral system.
  5. Proven experience of working directly with women, and families.
  6. Experience in supervising and coaching.
  7. Knowledge of Interagency Emergency Standard Operational Procedures for Prevention of and Response to Gender Based Violence and Protection is a plus.
  8. Working Experience within the NGO sector in similar positions.
  9. Preference will be given to candidates from the Southern governates, such as Bethlehem and Hebron, who have easy access to the central governorates, as the activities will be carried out in the Southern governorate, and partially in the central governorates.
