Job description

We World-GVC is recruiting a Project Manager who reports to the Operations Manager and works in coordination with  Area Manager, Finance Manager and Administrative officers, and Country Representative.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 Operations Management

  1. Responsible of all aspects of finance, administrative, human resource and logistics management related to the supervised project, ensuring knowledge of and adherence to applicable operational systems, donor requirements and We World-GVC country strategy
  2. Prepare and follow up comprehensive M&E plan for the supervised projects, including resource needs analysis, covering the time frames of the project proposals
  3. Represent We World-GVC at relevant meetings with partners and projects stakeholders, reporting back as applicable to Operations Manager, Programs Manager and Country Representative
  4. Responsible for the development of project work plans and budgets (financial plans)
  5. Ensure effective coordination, timely and quality implementation and monitoring of project activities to meet deliverables in accordance with standards, time line, and budget

Program Management

  1. Assist the Programs Manager or Country Representative with the identification and design of future projects
  2. Conduct needs assessments in areas identified by the Operation Manager and/or Programs Manager.
  3. Ensure budgets are spent according to donor proposals and regulations and within the appropriate timeframe, updating the Operations Manager of the financial status of the projects
  4. Highlight and bring to the attention of Country Management Team to good practices and opportunities raising from the implementation of the supervised projects

Staff Management

  1. Collaborate effectively with Area Manager to ensure smooth implementation of the projects’ activities and coordination of field work
  2. Work closely with the Operation Manager in establishing and maintaining collaborative and high performing team and a good working environment
  3. Work closely with the Operation Manager to develop and build an effective team

Quality Management

  1. In collaboration with Area Manager, develop and implement constant monitoring systems to improve follow up, transparency and to ensure the best use of We World-GVC assets and resources
  2. Make sure project activities and reports are delivered in time and with the best quality
  3. Support preparation of documents and agenda during field visits and at other relevant projects’ milestones
  4. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of annual reports as well as interim reports as required by donors
  5. Perform any other duty as requested by the line manager and Country Rep

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Knowledge

  1. An advanced university degree or equivalent in the field of Social or Political Science, Development Studies, International relations, Project Management
  2. Good knowledge of main donors’ policy and procedures (in particular OCHA Humanitarian Fund, EuropeAid)
  3. Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal and team skills
  4. Fluency in English both written and verbal
  5. Valid and clean driving license, manual gear is preferred

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant working experience in project management
  • Experience in Project Cycle Management
  • Previous work experience with international NGOs will be preferred
  • Proven experience in coordinating and manage relationships with international and local partner organizations and donors

  8. Computer skills, in particular MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project.
