This is a 12-month mandate in Jerusalem, Occupied Palestinian Territory/Israel.

The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in 14 countries and 3 regions over a seven-year period (2020-2027).

The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything we do.

Here's what your daily life will look like:

In close collaboration with Oxfam's in-country team members, your mandate will be to:
  1. Develop and improve feminist Monitoring-Evaluation-Learning-Accountability (MEAL) systems for Oxfam partners in the Occupied Palestinian Territory;
  2. Conduct a thorough assessment of the effectiveness of these systems with partners and jointly develop a capacity building plan;
  3. Develop and implement a contextualized and inclusive feminist MEAL system, using Oxfam's common approach to monitoring, evaluation, learning and social accountability;
  4. Support monitoring-evaluation-learning activities of projects and initiatives financed by various funds;
  5. Collect and provide information for program monitoring and evaluation reports;
  6. Train partners and colleagues on the feminist tools and methodologies of the MEAL system.

For this mandate you must:

  1. Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  2. Have university degree in program evaluation, social sciences, project management, organizational development or other relevant field;
  3. Be fluent in English, spoken and written (required);
  4. Have 3 years of experience relevant to the mandate;
  5. Have knowledge of results-based management (RBM);
  6. Have a good knowledge of the socio-political context in the Middle East;
  7. Be able to adapt to an uncertain and changing environment and have a good tolerance for uncertainty.
  8. Master the Office suite.

What we offer:

  1. Monthly allowance for living expenses;
  2. 20% increase in living allowance for an accompanying child (maximum of 2 children).  
  3. 1,500$ CAN per year/per child for schooling. 
  4. Monthly amount for rent;
  5. Round trip flight with 2 checked luggage;
  6. Round trip flight for accompanying child(ren). 
  7. 200$ CAD for additional luggage;
  8. Advantageous medical insurance for you and the accompanying child(ren); 
  9. A volunteer support program during your mandate and up to two months after your return to Canada;
  10. 20 days of vacation and other holidays;
  11. Access to various training courses (E-Learning, etc.).
