BACKGROUND


Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) of UNRWA is looking for two interns in Information & Communication Technology to support with adoption drive and activities on MS365 operations. Intern should be a dynamic, driven and detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in pursuing a career in the IT field as an IT Helpdesk Technician, Desktop Support Specialist, Microsoft Systems Administrator, Information Systems Analyst.

The intern will report administratively to the Head of the Information Technology Service Centre at the Headquarters Gaza and technically to the Head, End-User Services Delivery Section at the Headquarters Amman.

Responsibilities

  1. Troubleshooting computer hardware and software
  2. Software installations and configurations
  3. Setting up computer workstations
  4. Establish teleconference & video conference meetings
  5. Request mobile phone service activations and packages
  6. Ad hoc end-user support via email, IM, phone or in-person
  7. Ensure requests are properly opened, resolved in a timely manner, documented and closed in the ticketing system
  8. Perform other related duties as required

Education

  1. • Completion of secondary school or equivalent technical school with formal training and certification of relevant ICT related fields.
  2. • Currently enrolled in, or completed, a university degree with a focus on Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering is desirable
  3. • Strong technical, troubleshooting and organizational skills
  4. • Attention to detail
  5. • Self-starter and self-motivator; ability to work with minimal supervision
  6. • Excellent knowledge of computer laptop / desktop hardware and software such as Windows 7, Microsoft Office suite and other popular applications
  7. • Familiarity with networking, telephony, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, tele / videoconferencing, Apple Mac OS X, smartphone hardware and software (IOS, Android, etc.), mobile phone service technologies and ticketing systems
  8. • Availability to work full time (7:30am-3:00pm) for at least a three-month period

Special Notice

DURATION: The internship period will be 3 months. Extension of this period is subject to the performance evaluation and the continuity of the needed functions.
