1- Communications Associate

  • Job Title: Communications Associate
  • Type of Contract: Fixed Term
  • Duty Station: Gaza
  • Duration of Contract: 1 Year with Possibility for extension

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Communications Associate will undertake the following:
  1. Support the development and implementation of internal and external communications strategy, with specific focus on Gaza
  2. Support the design and maintenance of the UNDP website, Intranet, online databases, and web-based knowledge management platforms
  3. Support the implementation of UNDP/PAPP publications policy, and the elaboration and implementation of the CO publications plan
  4. Facilitate knowledge building, management, and sharing

Required Skills and Experience:

Min. Education requirements:
  • High School Diploma or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Strategic Communication, Media Relations, Journalism, Publishing, Graphic Design, Social Development, Communication for Development, Public Advocacy or another related area
 
Min. years of relevant work experience:
  1. With High School Diploma, minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in the field of communications, public relations.
  2. With BA degree, minimum of 4 years of progressive professional experience in the field of communications, public relations.
  3. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
  4. Familiarity with internet, search engines, discussion boards, blogs, video sharing sites and podcasts is required.
  5. Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  6. Experience in knowledge management and advocacy is an asset.
Required  skills:
  • Proven experience in dealing with local governments, NGOs, and,  bilateral and multilateral donors is required.
  • Experience in results-based management is required.
  • Excellent use of project management software and Microsoft applications is required.
Required Language(s):
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic languages is required

2- Partner Engagement Associate


  • Job Title: Partner Engagement Associate- NPSA7
  • Type of Contract: National Personnel Service Agreement   
  • Duty Station: Gaza
  • Duration of Contract: 1 Year
  • Closing Date:  Apply before 11/04/2022, 05:59 AM

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Partner Engagement Associate will undertake the following functions:
  • Project coordination and implementation:
  1. Maintain and monitor project plans, activities, and budgets against work-plan in collaboration with other project staff    and implementing partners.
  2. Conduct regular field visits to gather data and follow up on progress.
  3. Monitor project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable; update the status of project risks and issues by maintaining the logs.
  4. Identify changes and challenges in the external environment and promptly suggest necessary actions/corrective measures.
  5. Monitor and ensure relevant gender mainstreaming considerations are embedded in project activities.
  6. Handle correspondence and ensure the filing system is maintained and updated properly.
  7. Coordinate the implementation of HACT (Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers) procedures in line with UNDP rules and regulations.
  8. Ensure project implementation is in compliance with UNDP Rules and Regulations.
  • Stakeholder and Partnership Engagement:
  1. Coordinate meetings with stakeholders including governmental officials, private sector, NGOs, Higher Education Institutions, and the local community.
  2. Actively seek the engagement and participation of women and youth throughout the implementation of the project.
  3. Support implementing partners capacity and promote interlinkages amongst partners in alignment with the project objectives and vision.
  • Reporting, Monitoring, and Evaluation:
  1. Participate in the preparation of project proposals, procurement processes, inception reports, workplans, donor progress reports, and impact reports for the project.
  2. Draft monthly workplans, minutes of meetings, field visit reports and factsheets.
  3. Document lessons learned, best practices and success stories to contribute to learning.
  4. Monitor project implementation against the established indicators in coordination with the RBM Team.
  • Communication:
  1. Work closely with implementing partners, project stakeholders, relevant clusters, and communities at the field level.
  2. Support the development of communication and visibility materials in coordination with implementing partners and UNDP’s communication team.
  3. Ensure that all donor branding and visibility requirements are fulfilled.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors

Required Skills and Experience:

Min. Education requirements:
  • High School Diploma required or;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field will be given due consideration
 
Min. years of relevant work experience:
  • Minimum 7 years with High School diploma or at least 4 years of experience in project coordination with Bachelor’s degree.
 
Required  skills:
  • Proven experience in dealing with local governments, NGOs, and,  bilateral and multilateral donors is required.
  • Experience in results-based management is required.
