1- Programme Assistant - WFP

Job Title: Programme Assistant G5 (CBT), Gaza

Short Description

  • Position Title:  Programme Assistant G5- (CBT), Gaza
  • Contract Type and Grade level: Fixed Term / G5

  • Duty Station: Gaza

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Perform specialized and/or standardised processes and activities on Service Provision through WFP’s Cash-Based Transfers (CBT Platform, supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  2. Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures.
  3. Assist programme unit in the Gaza Field Office (FO) compiling relevant data on databases, and supporting analysis and preparation of reports, dashboards, infographics (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) in order to support operational decision-making.
  4. Support on the configuration and maintenance of WFP’s virtual platform for Cash-Based Transfers.
  5. Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines.
  6. Assist Gaza FO in the preparation of reports and proposals.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Support programme unit in the Gaza FO on Beneficiary Management (coordinating with cooperating partners and other relevant stakeholders, for beneficiary updates, etc), following WFP’s policies and procedures on data protection.
  2. Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities, particularly in the areas of CBT Service Provision.
  3. Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions.
  4. Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary, particularly in the areas of Service Provision, beneficiary management, and database management and maintenance.
  5. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  6. Support on any other Business as required.Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions to perform accurate food security analyses and to ensure efficient delivery of food assistance.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Completion of secondary school education. a BA certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
  • Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Fixed-term Appointment:  an appointment for a continuous period of one year and shall have a specified expiration date and subject to a probationary period of one year, which may be extended to 18 months.
  • Annual Net Pay Salary:  Fixed Term/ GS5  ILS 132097
  • Staff Assessment A staff assessment, comparable to national income tax, shall be applied to the gross salaries and such other payments as are computed on the basis of salary, The assessment shall be calculated at rates set forth in the FAO Administrative Manual.
  • Duty Station: Gaza and Reports To: Head of Gaza field office
  • Dependency allowances: applicable to children up to 18 years of age, or up to 21 years in full-time school attendance
  • United Nation Joint pension fund a deduction  of 7.9% from the pensionable remuneration will be made from the net salary, the WFP will contribute of 15.8%
  • Medical Insurance: mandatory for staff member and can be extended to dependents  in a cost sharing
  • Annual leave: 2.5 days a month and Sick leave: 2 days per month
  • Official Holiday: 10 days as officially established for each duty station

2- Senior Programme Associate - WFP

Job Title: Senior Programme Associate G7 (Nutrition/Gender/AAP ), Gaza

Short Description

  • Position Title:  Senior Programme Associate G7 (Nutrition/Gender/Accountability to Affected Populations AAP)
  • Contract Type and Grade level: Fixed Term / G7 
  • This is a Local National position so only National citizens are eligible to apply
  • Duty Station: Gaza

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer, the incumbent s/m will be responsible for the following:

  1. Under Social Behaviour Change Communication (under technical supervision of CO Nutrition team):
  2. In coordination with the Country Office (CO) Programme/Nutrition team, provide technically and programmatically sound contributions towards the expansion of the SBCC interventions in Gaza Strip.
  3. Provide efficient coordination and specialized project management support to a range of programmes, including the Social Behavior Change SBCC programme at the Gaza Strip level, to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures.
  4. Identify areas of alignment with other ongoing and planned interventions that can further enhance the impact of the SBCC programme. Work with relevant field and country office teams to promote complementarities between programmes.
  5. Lead and ensure accurate, timely recording of data collected by WFP and/or cooperating partners (e.g. assistance programmes, food security and vulnerability assessments), and ensure consistency of the information presented to stakeholders.
  6. Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government within the programmatic area. Supervise a small team of support staff working on SBCC.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Nutrition, International Health and Nutrition, Social Behavior Public Health, Family Health Food Technology, or any relevant field of study. Advanced degree is an asset.

Experience:

  •  At least seven years of experience working in the field of Programme implementation and management mainly in the field of nutrition/social behavior and public health projects.
  • Good Working experience with NGOs, UN Agencies and Government.
  • Good Working experience with people at the community level.
  • Knowledge of geographical areas.
  • Experience supporting capacity strengthening activities.
