Work Location

  • Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, or West Bank

Expected duration

  • The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
  • Remuneration for this consultancy will be 1,600 USD, depending on the fund availability, qualifications, and relevant experience.
  • The incumbent can be in any UNRWA field of operations (Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, or West Bank).

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in designing solutions with on-premise SharePoint and Office 365
  2. Assist in designing solutions with SharePoint Hybrid
  3. Manage standard administration activities for SharePoint, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for business and Teams
  4. Remediate issues after Microsoft upgrades to SharePoint Online are performed
  5. Perform improvements against the on-premise and online setup
  6. Maintain infrastructure diagrams up-to-date
  7. Apply monthly windows updates as required
  8. Development and implementation of legacy retirement plans for legacy systems and add-ins interfacing with SharePoint Online
  9. Deployment of SharePoint Cumulative Updates and Services Packs
  10. Monitoring - configuration; follow-up on alerts
  11. Management of access for users to SharePoint services
  12. Backup – configuration; monitoring; new requests; restore
  13. Incident analysis and troubleshooting, including troubleshooting with vendors
  14. Decommission environments
  15. Document monitoring and maintenance procedures
  16. Maintain system documentation and changelogs
  17. Develop PowerShell scripts for managing and automating the services
  18. Create Standard Operational Procedures
  19. Participate in user service request fulfillment, incident management, change management, and problem management
  20. Assist the Head of the Unit and Collaboration Services Lead on expert matters
  21. Perform other duties as may be required.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications:

  • A university degree or master’s degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, Information systems, computer science, computer engineering, Software engineering, Business Administration, Management, or other related disciplines;

Experience:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience for a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years for a master’s degree in SharePoint/SharePoint Online/Teams/OneDrive for Business Administrator
  2. Minimum 4 years supporting IIS, SharePoint, SQL
  3. Sound knowledge of administering on-premise SharePoint environments and in O365
  4. Sound knowledge of administering SQL Server
  5. Good knowledge in Cloud Technology especially in O365 and Azure
  6. Skills in general infrastructure, including system configurations, clustering, performance, and the use of security certificates
  7. Excellent knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  8. Experience in the Microsoft Technology landscape, including various server products.

DESIRABLE CERTIFICATES

  • Microsoft Certified on SharePoint 2013/2016
  • Microsoft Certified on O365 and/or Azure

  6. Must be willing to participate in a 7 x 24 on-call support program and flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
