1- Social Inclusion Specialist


Responsibilities:

  1. The Social Inclusion Specialist specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  2. Conducts WASH inclusiveness analysis to identify approaches, opportunities and recommendations for activity adaptations for women, youth, and persons with disabilities (PWD).
  3. Develops WASH Inclusion strategy based on results of analysis.
  4. In close coordination with the Technical Expert/Chief Engineer and consortium partners, oversees the successful implementation of WASH inclusion strategy, ensuring that women, youth, and PWD benefit from enhanced hygiene conditions in communities and households.
  5. Follows up with relevant cluster or working groups on protection inclusion issues raised in WASH Audits conducted with beneficiary households.
  6. Trains consortium partners and staff on social inclusion issues.
  7. Attends Protection Cluster meetings.
  8. Participates on PMT and Technical Implementation Team.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred; 
  2. Seven years of relevant experience;
  3. Demonstrated experience in and commitment to the application of Social Inclusion principles in development programs;
  4. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing  WASH activities;
  5. Full professional proficiency in spoken and written in both English and Arabic;

2- Public Health Specialist

Responsibilities:

  1. The Public Health Specialist specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  2. Develops GHW’s household hygiene promotion strategy, including the content of hygiene promotion trainings and all hygiene promotion education and communication materials.
  3. In close coordination with the Technical Expert/Chief Engineer, Social Inclusion Specialist, and consortium partners, oversees the successful implementation of the household hygiene promotion strategy.
  4. Trains consortium partners and staff on public health issues.
  5. Attends Health and Nutrition Cluster meetings.
  6. Oversees the distribution of hygiene items and/or e-vouchers by sub- awardees.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred; 
  2. Seven years of relevant experience;
  3. Experience in working with international development organizations is preferred;
  4. Demonstrated experience in developing and promoting public health strategy;
  5. Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering  trainings to consortium partners and staff;
  6. Experience in facilitating health related projects;
  7. Full professional proficiency in spoken and written in both English and Arabic;

3- Senior MEL Specialist


Responsibilities:

The Senior MEL Specialist will oversee the design and implementation of the program’s monitoring and evaluation system in accordance with USAID regulations and Global Communities’ standards. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  1. Prepare an Activity Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Plan, with appropriate indicators and an effective data collection system.
  2. Design a reporting system that provides insights to decision makers on activity performance and areas that require attention.
  3. Supervise the collection of quantitative and qualitative data, applying data quality standards and procedures and using scientific methods to ensure high quality of data.
  4. Oversee data analysis and reporting on achievements against set targets, highlighting emerging patterns and offering clear reports on findings and conclusions.
  5. Strengthen the skills of staff and program partners, including overseeing the monitoring and evaluation activities conducted by sub-grantees.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred; 
  2. Five years of relevant monitoring and evaluation experience;
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of evaluation methodologies for WASH activities;
  4. Proven ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences;
  5. Demonstrated experience in successfully translating data and findings into activity recommendations;
  6. Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English; 
  7. Full professional proficiency in spoken and written Arabic;

4- Field Engineer (3)

 

Responsibilities:

The Field Engineer specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  1. Provide technical input and support Engineering Fellows and supervise contractors to ensure adherence to technical standards.  
  2. Conduct day-to-day field visits and submit daily updates and weekly written reports to the area engineer.  
  3. Supervise the implementation of water, wastewater and storm water networks  
  4. Assist in developing detailed bills of quantities (BOQ), drawings and specifications for civil and water infrastructure ion works based on assessment and program requirements.
  5. Proactively participate in sample/material inspection/evaluation committees to ensure that all materials match the quality specifications as detailed in the BoQ.
  6. Assist in ensuring that variations are approved by the Area Engineers according to the organization’s procedures before giving work order to the contractor.
  7. Write and submit weekly activity reports and filed visit reports to the Area Engineers of critical points of the construction/rehabilitation works.
  8. Validate the progress and quality of work of the contractors, and coordinate with procurement and logistics in coordination with Area Engineers to ensure their payments are done on time.
  9. Responds to and records beneficiary WASH technical/hardware feedback and complaints at field level
  10. Facilitate the water quality testing in the field. 
  11. Prepare site documentation such as daily reports, work permissions, site instructions etc. 
  12. Ensure the health and safety of all people in construction sites and compliance with HSE construction requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Water Engineering or any other relevant field;  
  2. Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in supervising water and sanitation projects in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  3. Experience in preparing Bill of Quantity (BOQ) and budgets.
  4. Advanced computer literacy skills
  5. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Demonstrate adequate English language proficiency (reading, writing and speaking)

5- Area Engineers (2)

 

Responsibilities:

The Area Engineer specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
  1. Reviews all designs prepared for small construction activities, working directly with preparers on revisions and recommending final versions for approval by the Chief Engineer.
  2. Oversees the implementation of the project’s small construction activities, including household water and sewage connections and minor structural renovations in target households.
  3. Prepare tender’s documents including the Bills of Quantities and technical specifications.
  4. Conducts trainings on construction monitoring for Engineering Fellows.
  5. Assist in the performance evaluation process for the engineering fellows.
  6. Prioritize, plan and assign daily work duties to field engineers.
  7. Supports Fellows to monitor construction, including conducting regular supervisory visits and ensuring compliance with safety plan.
  8. Inspects all construction works and to ensure quality and site safety; investigates root causes of incidents and recommends corrective measures.
  9. Provide technical support to other team members and contractors when and where required
  10. Support in Liaising with beneficiary community and  WASH cluster 
  11. Provide technical support to water quality & hygiene promotion team while implementing the water quality and hygiene promotion activities.
  12. Ensure that infrastructure works is integrated with hygiene promotion and community 
  13. participation component, to ensure sustainability of the infrastructure built
  14. Reviews monthly safety reports.
  15. Prepare work schedules in collaboration with the Line Manager and ensure that the construction is completed on time and within budget.
  16. Perform regular inspections & tests on materials and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations & standards.
  17. Document the construction process and keep detailed construction logs.
  18. Present construction project progress updates to the line manager.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Water Engineering or any other relevant field; master degree is preferable  
  2. Minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in supervising and implementing WASH related programs;
  3. Demonstrated experience in conducting trainings on construction management and monitoring;
  4. Must have strong technical knowledge and understanding of WASH rehabilitation and construction works, with a focus on environmental and sustainable solutions
  5. Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines.
  6. Reports writing skills in both English and Arabic;
  7. Advanced computer literacy skills
  8. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  9. Demonstrate adequate English language proficiency (reading, writing and speaking)
