Org. Setting and Reporting

The Administrative Assistant B reports to the Head, IT Service Center.

Responsibilities

  1. Assists in the preparation of the Manual budget.  Records and monitors expenditure against allotted fund;
  2. Orders supplies for Departmental use and supervises distribution;
  3. Compiles, analyses and verifies statistical data;
  4. Maintains inventory records of equipment/furniture and other supplies and prepares survey reports as required;
  5. Handles routine correspondence and prepares replies for supervisor’s signature;
  6. Checks and ensures settlement of contractors’ bills and other expenditure.

Places team agenda before personal agenda. Supports and acts in accordance with final group decision, even when such decisions may not entirely reflect own position. Education

  1. Successful completion of full secondary education.
  2. Successful completion of post secondary course of at least two years' duration in business and office practice or related discipline.
  3. Ability to operate a PC using word processing, and spread sheet, and data base applications.
  4. A university degree in related to the functions of the post (desirable)

Work Experience

Four years' experience in administrative / clerical work.

Languages

Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Assessment

  • Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice

  • Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment
  • Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.
