Background Information
UNOPS is implementing the Project Management Unit (PMU) which emerged from the Materials Monitoring Unit (MMU) project in Gaza established in 2014, providing facilitation and monitoring of ‘dual-use’ materials on behalf of the governments of Palestine and Israel operationalizing the Gaza Reconstruction Mechanism (GRM) relevant to the implementation of a series of infrastructure and other projects to response to urgent humanitarian and development needs in Gaza.
Under the direct supervision of the PMU Senior Project Manager and technical guidance of the ICT colleagues in HQ, the ICT Senior Associate is responsible for efficient and effective ICT management and support to the operations in a given geography. In the discharge of her/his duties, the ICT Senior Associate liaises with UNOPS programme support colleagues, in order to ensure best support.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education
- Completion of Secondary education is required.
- Diploma or University Degree, preferably in information sciences, computer sciences or engineering, is desirable and may substitute some years of experience.
Experience:
- A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of information technology and/or telecommunications and systems, preferably in an international environment
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office 2010 and/or newer versions). Experience in management of Active Directory, Windows servers, and network infrastructure.
- Experience in GRAMMS is an advantage
Language:
- Full working knowledge of English and Arabic is required
- Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset.
