General Physician - Caritas Jerusalem

Caritas Jerusalem (CJ) is a humanitarian and development organization that represents the socio-pastoral services of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land. Caritas Jerusalem is seeking highly qualified candidates for the following position:

  • Position Title: General Physician
  • Contract Period: 8 months contract, with the possibility of extension(s)
  •  Location: Gaza
  • Status: Full time
  • Starting date: ASAP

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' conditions.
  2. Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
  3. Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
  4. Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. 
  5. Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary
  6. Coordinate work medical staff and other health care providers.
  7. Diagnosis, treatment, and determination of the type of service that persons with disabilities (PwDs).
  8. Supervising the work of nurses and providing continuous technical support for them.
  9. Assess patients and determines treatment intervention plan through coordination with the
  10. Report to the project coordinator using the monitoring tools and reports’ forms on a daily weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
  11. The post will require working in the field or making home visits to covid19 patients.
  12. You should be a holder of a bachelor's degree and be a maximum of 35 years old with valid practice and license.
