MA’AN is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the other branch offices are located in Gaza, and Jenin. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
 
Currently, MA’AN has been working on implementing a project aims at enhancing the community emergency preparedness and reducing the risk and impact of the EOER through providing EOER risk education services and Conflict Preparedness and Protection (CPP) sessions. The project is implemented in partnership with UNMAS and MA'AN is seeking a competent and highly qualified liaison officer to lead the coordination and facilitate the communication between MA'AN and UNMAS and to supervise the different project activities.  

The main tasks and responsibilities include:

  1. Lead the coordination and facilitate the communication between the project team in MA'AN and UNMAS
  2. Collaborate and communicate successfully with key stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of the project activities 
  3. Carry out interviews, focus groups discussions, analyzing of results, and reporting of these results in appropriate templates.
  4. Maintain detailed and accurate record of meetings and communications and share it with project partners and team members 
  5. In the participation of the project team, Prepare detailed and effective monthly action plan for the project activities.
  6. Follow-up the teams’ work plans on daily basis to ensure data sharing and implementation of activities as directed by UNMAS Palestine 
  7. Develop training of risk education materials, create innovative messages, and deliver training sessions and TOTs.
  8. Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
  9. Produce and draft different types of reports, and to convert reports from/to Arabic/English as requested by UNMAS Palestine and delivering on time Present the project in the related events and workshops. 

Essential Experiences and Competencies: 

  1. Holding the Bachelor degree in related field
  2. Minimum 3 years of related experience, mainly experience in working with communities, coordination and training
  3. Experience in working within the NGO's and community-based organizations
  4. Demonstrated coordination and liaison experience.
  5. Demonstrated training experience in both languages' Arabic and English.
  6. Highly organized, reliable attention to details and ability to work independently when needed.
  7. Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and donors.
  8. Fluency in both English & Arabic languages including both written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Excellent reporting skills in both English & Arabic.
  10. Advanced computer literacy.
  11. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload and multi-task.
  12. Integrity and strong identification with MAAN Core Values.
