WATSAN TECHNICIAN COVID RESPONSE 


INTERNAL RECRUITMENT, SHORT TERM ASSIGNEMENT


CONTEXT:


Médecins Sans Frontières “Doctors without Borders” is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. 

In the context of Covid-19 pandemic in Gaza: MSF is currently seeking to hire Watsan Supervisor


OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:


Assisting Watsan Manager in providing trainings in infection prevention and control in Gaza health facilities (PHCs, Hospitals) in collaboration with health promoters and medical staff, according to MSF protocols, safety and IPC measures, in order to ensure quality of care and safety of patients, caretakers and staff during the Covid pandemic.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Interpreter for international staff (English Arabic) during visits to health structures 
  2. Evaluation of covid19 facilities and health structures with respect to MSF standards and protocols
  3. Translation of short documents, posters and training materials from English to Arabic
  4. Ensuring the Watsan technicians have the materials necessary to achieve their objectives
  5. Provision of theoretical and practical training to hygienists in MSF supported health structures, in accordance with MSF protocols and standards regarding health structures and covid19 
  6. Identification of gaps in knowledge or misunderstandings, and propose how training strategy can be improved
  7. Ensuring training records are up to date  - dates, participant lists, donation certificates etc
  8. Support with other logistic / watsan functions as required by the evolving response


CANDIDATE PROFILE:


  • Essentiel excellent spoken writing and reading English ( B2), 
  • Desired: Technical diploma with specialization in water and sanitation
  • Desired: Previous experience in technical works and organising of multiple activities,
  • Desirable previous experience in MSF or other NGO’s.
  • Desirable: previous experience of managing a team, working as hygienist / cleaning, giving training, or communicating to groups
  • Desirable: previous experience as an interpreter English Arabic
  • Candidate must be free of any obligations.

CONDITIONS:

  • Short term contract. 
  • Transport allowance
