Consultant – SharePoint Online Developer (Local)

BACKGROUND

UNRWA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UNICC that aims to enhance livelihood and human development opportunities to Palestine refugees in Gaza By this new collaboration, UNRWA becomes a provider of Information Management and Technology services and capacity augmentation to UNICC technical team on a cost recovery basis through IMTD/IT Service Center (ITSC) in HQ-Gaza.

UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a SharePoint Online Developer to develop web-based collaborative platform that integrates solutions Agency-wide The consultant will be required to work effectively with IT stakeholders to provide document management and storage system, which is highly configurable and varies substantially among different stakeholders This includes (but not limited to) internet site development, APIs, best practices in security for internet sites, and authentication Integration (two way) with other running software and internet sites including UNRWA Enterprise solutions.

The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre at Headquarter Gaza and technically to United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC).

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Development and deployment of SharePoint based applications (workflows, customizations etc);
  2. Perform SharePoint’s application services framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of Search, Managed Metadata, and User Profile Services;
  3. Migrates the SharePoint from on-premises to online platform
  4. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code;
  5. Other duties as assigned

minimum Qualifications and Experience

  1. A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline;
  2. At least 4 years of experience in Microsoft Enterprise SharePoint 2013/2016/Online Platform including implementation, and configuration, of which 1 year in using MS SharePoint SDK;
  3. Good command of spoken and written English.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience in developing integrations with other Office 365 applications
  2. Experience in developing integration with Azure Cloud Services.
  3. Experience in setting up CI/CD using Azure DevOps
  4. Experience in Agile methodologies.
  5. Experience with SharePoint Designer, Web Parts, and workflow creation.
  6. Experience as a SharePoint Developer in the analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of webbased applications.
  7. Knowledge of distributed version control systems such as GIT.
  8. Good knowledge in Jira, Bitbucket or similar tools.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

  1. The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
  2. Remuneration for this consultancy will be equivalent to grade 15.
  3. The incumbent will be based in Gaza.
