Water and wells rehabilitation specialist
MA’AN Development Centre is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the four branch offices are located in Gaza, Khan Younis, Tulkarem and Jenin,. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
MA’AN Development Centre in partnership with CARE international is implementing Agriculture Project in Gaza Strip titles “AYADI”. The project will help small scale female and male farmers focused on plant and animal production to improve their livelihoods through increasing their production capacity and productivity, and seeking for the following vacancy:
Position title: water and wells rehabilitation specialist
Project Duration: 8 Months
Tasks and responsibilities:
-Proving technical advice in the water and wells rehabilitation field.
-Preparing work plans for the well’s rehabilitation activity, this includes but not limited to (coordination with stakeholders, identifying targeted communities and need assessments and BOQs)
-Supervising and following up the implementation of well’s rehabilitation activity including (quality control of deliverables, quantities follow up, work documentation and other related tasks)
-Facilitate and coordinate for the field visits requested by the project coordinator
-Preparing progress reports and success stories as requested
-Ensure that all documents related to the above mentioned tasks are complete and available.
-Other tasks within the specialist qualifications as required by MA’AN work (assessments, external contacts and/or representation)
Directly reporting to: project coordinator /project Manager
Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree at least from recognized university in related field.
-Five years of professional experience in water and wells rehabilitation sector, preferably with experience in working with NGO's.
-Excellent networking and coordination skills.
-Professional level in both Arabic & English language skills.
-Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English & Arabic.
-Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
-Advanced computer literacy.
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
-Ability to start working immediately.
