Cashier Intern - ACTED

Background on ACTED

ACTED is an international NGO registered in France. ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED started its activities in the occupied Palestinian territory in May 2007, through food security interventions in the West Bank and then in Gaza. ACTED is currently implementing projects funded among others by ECHO, OCHA, EU Member States and EuropeAid, which aim to protect vulnerable households in the West Bank and Gaza and to strengthen civil society actors across the occupied Palestinian territory.
Country Profile
In the occupied Palestinian territory, ACTED is both committed to humanitarian assistance and long-term development. ACTED strives to strengthen the economic capacities of cooperatives in rural areas, consolidate civil society organisations, and provide emergency assistance to the most vulnerable, rural communities in the West Bank and Gaza. ACTED currently seeks a Cashier Intern for its operations in Gaza.


  1.  Manage the petty cash in appropriate manner on a daily basis.
  2.  Check expense receipts.
  3.  Prepare necessary accounting documentation for approval journal voucher and payment voucher.
  4.  Prepare cash and bank books and send then them to Gaza finance and Admin officer on a daily basis.       Then enter the expenses to the accountancy Handbook.
  5.  Assist finance and admin officer to liaise with partners and help in the reporting along with the supporting documents provided by partners.
  6.  Follow up on daily  accountants then do photocopying ,scanning and filing.
  7.  Organize and maintain paper and electronic files, folders, archives, books and any sort of documentation.
  8. Prepare letters based on direct supervisor request.
  9. Translate documents as required.
  10. Perform any other task as requested by the direct supervisor.


  1. A bachelor’s degree in Finance , Accounting or any related field (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
  2. Computer skills including the ability to operate Microsoft Office programs.
  3. Excellent verbal and listening communications skills in Arabic and English.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills including ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with team members.
  6. Very organized and structured.
  7. Ability to work under pressure.
  8. Good attitude and ability to work in a team.
  9. Willingness to improve skills and knowledge.
  10. Good IT and Microsoft Office skills.
  11. Valid Driving License
