Org. Setting and Reporting

 

In this role, the incumbent reports to Project Team Leader.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:


  1. Assists the Projects Office team in identifying and reviewing project needs for the assigned portfolio, coordinates with the concerned department in drafting project proposals and maintains proper documentation and sharing of information as per the practices adopted by the team,
  2. Coordinates and follows up - for the assigned portfolio - on project implementation with the programme and concerned service departments and in reporting to the concerned team members at the Projects Office any delays or problems hindering the implementation of projects
  3. Coordinates with the concerned department in drafting project progress and final reports. Organizes regular and ad-hoc meetings; prepares of minutes of meetings and summaries of actions to be taken; tracking of progress on planned issues; follow -up with focal points
  4. Monitors and controls financial expenditure of projects in coordination with the Administrative Officers of the programme and service departments, the Field Finance Officer and HQ Finance Department. Assists the Projects Office team in developing alternative plans in coordination with the departments to utilize balance of funds remaining after the completion of projects
  5. Assists the Projects Office during donor/s visits and special requests
  6. Performs such other duties as may be assigned

 

Competencies

 

  1. Excellent report writing skills;
  2. Proven ability in establishing effective internal work relationships at all levels and in coordination;
  3. Ability to work under pressure;

 

Education

 

A university degree in industrial engineering or civil engineering with documented practical experience in project development and project cycle management. Candidates with master degree or higher diploma in the field of project management and related public administration will be prioritized.

 

Work Experience

 

Three years of direct relevant experience on administering projects & reporting to donors and working with international organizations

 

Languages

 

Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic

 

Assessment

 

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

 

Special Notice

  • Contract Type & Duration:

Limited Duration Contract for 1 year; renewable; Appointment subject to funding confirmation.


Conditions of service:

The monthly basic salary shall be US$ 1,448.30 at band “E”.  An existing LDC member can apply to this LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current status to accept the new LDC appointment.
